Press Release for Sunday's Concert

The Southeast Kansas Symphony invites you to attend the first concert of the season this Sunday, September 30 at 3:00pm in Pittsburg’s Memorial Auditorium. The program begins with Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, a challenging and rousing opening selection. The Symphony will then feature the first of three winners of our annual Concerto & Aria Competition, Mr. Aaron Metzger, who will perform the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto. Mr. Metzger is a Pittsburg native and a trumpet performance major at Pittsburg State University. The second half of the concert features the Symphony in Schubert’s glorious Symphony No. 8 (Unfinished) and the tuneful Farandole from George Bizet’s L’Arlésienne: Suite No. 2. You know the tune, even if you don’t know it by name!

Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and students, children 12 & under are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets will be available at the door.
